The Cat & Fiddle is CLOSED - Really Closed

The Macclesfield to Buxton road "The Cat & Fiddle" has been coned off and closed for a couple of weeks now.

"A colleague of mine lives at the Peak View Tea Room so I’m getting regular updates from him. The snow ploughs couldn’t get through so they are currently using a snow blower to open the road. They got as far as his tea room yesterday (1 lane only) but he still can’t get to Macc with his 4x4" - Paul Smith

People are starting to risk driving over it at their peril. As you can see from the photo below not even near the summit the road is perilous and reduced to a single untreated icy lane. Please don't ignore the closed signs. This is a webcam near the cafe at the summit.
