My clients are driving me crazy. I impliment news lists on the home page of a site using views and RSS feeds, they ask me to remove the RSS feed and want scrolling news. Arrrgh! Removing RSS is like saying "I don't want anyone to know about my site content and I don't want visitors". This attitude is simply insane.

The problem is that whilst IT professionals all understand that RSS is a really fantastic technology and have embraced it whole heartedly, average Joe just don't get it. Until RSS is more commonly available on popular sites we are going to face frustrations. As with many web technologies, mass market take up is very slow, people fear change.

It is interesting that people are so blissfully unaware of RSS when sites like BBC News have been using them for years.
