You have several options available when it comes to interfacing Drupal with Flash / Flex. There are a couple of modules you will want to evaluate

• Services - this is an extension to the xmlrpc which allows flash to make calls to Drupal
  • Comprehensive overview on how to develop your own custom service to return specific data
• AMFPHP

Both these modules come with excellent documentation, particularly with respect to Flex. You may want to explore the Services Group on Drupal.org

  • Service not working from flash?
    • Make sure you grant access to sevices module in user access (point 1).
    • The service can appear to be working fine (browse to http://mysite.com/services/amfphp and you should see some explanatory text)
    • Unless anonymous users can see the service your flash will not work under the Flash IDE.

There are alternatives to using the Services module. You can write your own flash interface which is a quick and dirty way of accessing Drupal data.
