We have been looking for some furniture recently and finally found what we wanted in the House Shop Stockton Heath. The prices were good, the sideboard and table were in the sale with more than 25% off. Having discussed with the staff it was concluded that we would be best to order from our local branch, in Macclesfield.
Less than a week later we visited the Macclesfield branch of The House Shop only to discover that the prices had changed. When I enquired it was revealed that the 'SALE' prices went up in the period between visiting the Stockton Heath House shop and today.
I had a product enquiry from the first visit in hand on house shop printed paper, yet they had no interest in honouring the prices, the best they could do was knock £50 off their new 'SALE' prices. This would mean we had to stump up an extra £100 on last weeks prices.
It seems to me that "SALE PRICES" are as volitile as the stock market these days and that sales are actually just a complete lye. This is not the first time that I have experienced these dishonest tactics with shops lately. It doesn't give you the opportunity to think and makes the consumer fell pressured into making descisions. I will not be visiting The House Shop again because you can't be sure that their prices will stay from one minute to the next.
