One of the most important aspects for any web metrics software is being able to track just your visitors and NOT yourself or site administrators.
In the Google Analytics Profile Settings there is a feature called Filters. This allows you do not track traffic from certain IP addresses and IP ranges. The feature uses scary looking regular expressions. Fortunately there is a tool to get the regular expressions built for you on the Google Web Site.
If you are not sure what you IP address is then visit a site like whatismyip.com . You IP address will clearly be stated at the top of the page.
