I recieved an email from MyOffers.co.uk today which featured a tempting array of competitions. When I read the terms of one of them I noticed they were a potentially expensive trap tricking you into signing up unwittingly to weekly expensive incoming texts, typically £2 each.

When you enter web competitions asking your mobile think twice

"If you decide to continue playing after the first week, you will be sent two £2 billed messages per week. Please make sure you have enough credit on your phone to honour the £4 charge. Players who have joined can end the chance of winning £500 a week, by sending the word STOP to 66333. Sending STOP means entrants will no longer receive a weekly question and will not be charged."
