I've always favoured the plants at High Leigh, reliably good quality and not over priced. The cafe is reasonable and the garden centre is well stocked.

There's added appeal now the narrow gauge railway has opened. Children in prams go free - so make sure your toddler arrives in one! The circuit is reasonably short but they do two laps, more than enough to keep any toddler amused. Just a pound for each fayre paying person.

Apparently the owners have ambitions to extend the route into the nearby woods making it a 1 mile circuit. They also plan to introduce steam engines to supplement the existing electric ones.
