A weird pairing but happened to watch both these films in 24hrs, both in their own ways left me profoundly respecting the elderley. You can never assume an OAP's life story looking at their frailty now.
Many have lived through harder times and endured far greater suffering than we could imagine. Others have experienced adventures we are not brave to attempt.
This morning an elderley neighbour I had never spoken with before walked slowly and weirily along the street as I opened my car. As if by coincidence she asked if I was heading to town, having just seen both these films, without hesitation I gave her a lift. Not a heroic gesture, but perhaps if more people helped OAPs a little every day life would be a whole lot better. It made me feel good, it's not the first time I've looked out like that, it won't be the last.
Do something nice today.
