Just a stones throw beyond Padstow is the small hamlet of St Merryn. For years Rick Stein has frequented the Cornish Arms as his local for a good pint of beer. Recently the pub tennancy came available and he leapt at the chance of being a steward for what he considered to be an important aspect of community life in the village.

Bucking recent trends, rather than transform it into an expensive gastro pub it seems he has opted maintain the same atmosphere which drew him there in the first place. You will find good quality proper pub grub like steak and chips, scampi in a basket etc.

I am sure with his unassuming talent for success he will be a more than worthy steward.
