When I saw this app it wasn't too clear what it was about. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a location aware map based search tool for local services and businesses. Indeed it provides a superbly fast way to find for example plumbers, hotels, cinemas and dozens of other individual businesses plotting them on an in app map. Much better than google local and since it is an actual app, a very pleasing interface.

Beautifully simple yet mind boggling hard after the first few stages, this excellent FREE iPhone app will keep you occupied for days. Like the thinking mans Tetris, once you get the idea you will be hooked. Like any great board game, if the concept is brilliant, you don't need fancy packaging. This game is an instant hit.

The Facebook iPhone Application has undergone a massive facelift. The previous version was always frustrating to use as it did not support many of the popular aspects of the browser based site.

The new Facebook App features a far better navigation and support for Chat, Pages, Photos, Notes, Landscape Mode, Photo Management and more.

When searching eBay on your iPhone, be sure to click the refine button to get better results. It is visible once you get a results list and allows you to define what radius you want to search, price range, type of sale (auction, buy now etc) and define how to order the results.

I find myself strangely drawn to the Facebook application ok a regular basis. It offers a limited feature set compared with the website focusing on status updates and photos mainly, which is adequate.

It is a great tool for keeping in touch with you friends when away from your desktop computer.

The eBay iPhone application brings easy access to one of the worlds most popular sites. Featuring automated regional settings detecting the best ebay site for you, it also supports keyword search, watched items, bidding items, won items and of course you can bid. Small thumbnail photos can be emlarged full screen and you can now message a seller too.

If you are a big fingered iPhone user and often miss key ask you type, then easywriter is the perfect solution.

Instead of composing emails through the regular mail client on your iPhone, you start in eastwriter. Orientate your phone sideways and hey presto, a larger keyboard.

When you are finished composing you click send to email.

The ITN news reader for the iPhone is not as capable as the BBC reader but it does give you an equally fast route into the otherwise overwhelming amount of information now on the site.

Whilst there is a button to email a link there is no facility to reach the ITN site through an article which I feel is a missed opporunity.

The BBC reader iPhone app is a superb way to get your quick fix of news without trawling with safari.

It has three configurable tabs so you can set which of the main BBC news rss feeds you wish to focus upon.
