Things to do with Children in Cheshire

Tatton Park Farm - dissapointing and expensive

We normally head to Blaze Farm, Wildboarclough when seeking farm based entertainment for our toddler. After a recommendation we headed for Tatton Park Farm.

Entrance was £4.50 per car plus £4.50 per adult, £2.50 per child which starts to add up so we anticipated something quite good for our money. However we were rather dissapointed to discover that once we had seen the donkeys, a small handful of sheep, hens, one rabbit, a couple of horses and some pigs that was it.

New playground in Macclefield vandalised

The playground only just opened on the Hurdsfield Estate days ago has been vandalised. It was my first trip to see the shiny new facility the council had built. I was gutted to see that one of the swings had chunks removed, huge amount of grafitti, safety matting intentionally damaged.

The playground is one of the best equipped in the area with some superb modern climbing frames, swings amd flush to the floor roundabouts.

I am apauled that in such a small time a brilliant resource has been ruined.

Manchester Airport Aviation Park

Like many parents we sometimes struggle to think what we can do with our child at the weekend which doesn't cost the earth. I have just remembered that Manchester Airport has a special aircraft observation area 'Manchester Aviation Park' where you can see planes on the runway. It is also the home of Concorde and it is possible to arrange for tours. They have other aircraft which you can go aboard without prior arrangement. It costs £4 per can and £1 per passenger over 4 years of age.
