Power users guide to screenshots on Mac OS X

OS X is a hugely sophisticated beast. Most users only scratch the surface of its power. Fortunately Apple have some superb short guides about some of the most useful features. One such example is the guide to taking Screenshots.

Using the Apple OS X color Picker outside of applications

Normally this only available in applications. However you can use it on the desktop as a standalone application by doing the following.

  1. Open 'Script Editor'  (Applications > Applescript > Script Editor
  2. Type 'choose color' in script editor
  3. Click Run
  4. You have the Colors picker open
