Using the Apple OS X color Picker outside of applications

Normally this only available in applications. However you can use it on the desktop as a standalone application by doing the following.
- Open 'Script Editor' (Applications > Applescript > Script Editor
- Type 'choose color' in script editor
- Click Run
- You have the Colors picker open
